CORONA UPDATE
Dear smart friends,
I considered for a few days whether I should write something about Corona again. You only read articles on this topic. But this topic is currently the most important topic in the public community and we as drivers are simply part of this public community. Yes, the news is not good at the moment. We could not have imagined it that way a month ago. Social and economic life is restricted.
That is right and important so that we can all weather this pandemic. All of these measures are initially limited until the end of April. Nobody knows what will happen next. We personally believethat it will take a long time before we can return to normal. Many scientists see it that way too. And, as I wrote in the last post, nobody can make a statement today as to the situation in early August.
Of course, many of you are wondering if the meeting will take place. We cannot answer this question as of today.
Since we cannot do that, we plan ahead. We don't want to give up yet.
We want to make a decision about the event by the end of May. Until then, we can hopefully assess the development somewhat better than today.
Registration for the meeting is still possible. If participation is not possible due to the Corona crisis, no cancellation fees will of course be due.
And we will extend the registration deadline until the end of May, as the situation is currently unclear.
These days we are first of all with our friends and everyone in Northern Italy. Where the situation is currently the worst.
Dear Italian friends: We stand by you, we think of you. We wish you (and of course all people) that all will survive this pandemic.

ich habe einige Tage überlegt, ob ich wieder etwas zum Thema Corona schreiben soll. Man liest ja nur noch Beiträge über dieses Thema. Aber dieses Thema ist zur Zeit das wichtigste Thema in unserer Gesellschaft und wir samrtfahrer sind einfach ein Teil dieser Gesellschaft. Ja, die Nachrichten sind zur Zeit nicht gut. Das hätten wir uns vor einem Monat so alle nicht vorstellen können. Das gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Leben ist eingeschränkt.
Das ist richtig und wichtig, damit wir alle diese Pandemie gut überstehen. Alle diese Maßnahmen sind vorerst beschränkt bis Ende April. Wie es dann weitergeht, weiß noch niemand.
Wir persönlich meinen, daßes noch eine längere Zeit dauern wird, bis wir zur Normalität zurückkehren können. Viele Wissenschaftler sehen das auch so.
Und , wie ich es schon beim letzten Post schrieb, niemand kann heute eine Aussage machen, wie die Situation Anfang August ist.
Natürlich fragen sich viele von Euch, ob das Treffen stattfinden wird. Wir können diese Frage zum heutigen Tage noch nicht beantworten.
Da wir das nicht können, planen wir erst einmal weiter. Aufgeben wollen wir noch nicht.
Eine Entscheidung über die Veranstaltung wollen wir bis Ende Mai treffen. Bis dahin können wir hoffentlich die Entwicklung etwas besser abschätzen als heute.
Die Anmeldung für das Treffen ist weiterhin möglich, wenn eine Teilnahme aufgrund der Corona-Krise nicht möglich sein sollte, werden natürlich keine Stornogebühren fällig.
Und wir werden den Anmeldeschluss bis Ende Mai verlängern, da zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt die Lage unklar ist.
In diesen Tagen sind wir in Gedanken zu allererst bei unseren Freunden und allen Menschen in Norditalien. Dort, wo der Zustand zur Zeit mit am Schlimmsten ist.
Liebe italienischen Freunde: Wir stehen zu Euch, wir denken an Euch. Wir wünschen Euch (und natürlich allen Menschen), daß Alle diese Pandemie gut überstehen.
